What is Clay? Clay is a special kind of earth created from igneous rocks, formed by eons of bleaching and scorching sun, washed by torrential rains, blasted by violent winds. Over time (billions of years) bits of this special earth are carried by water, rain, ice and wind and deposited into lakes and river beds. Through this journey, diverse components and elements are collected and by the time this muck or mud has settled, the result is a remarkably unique inert material with outstanding properties and capabilities.
Throughout civilization man has shaped this material into many significant and productive forms. Materials such as bricks, tiles and pottery have helped define and record our early existence. We in the industry would like to introduce Vitrified Clay Pipe (VCP) into that mix. VCP is made from a special blend of clay that has been designed, engineered and used as sanitary sewer conduit throughout the world. Vitrified Clay Pipe is the only pipe material available that can convey the full range of materials that a community and/or industry may discharge into it, without suffering from rust, shrinkage, elongation, bending, deflection, erosion, oxidization or deterioration, EVER.
Throughout this website you will find exciting information about Vitrified Clay Pipe: From its history, to steps on how to manufacture it, cities that utilize clay pipe, completed clay projects throughout California, and a contact form to submit your questions that you may have about clay.
Join us in discovering why VCP is the best material available for underground sanitary sewers and if you are the one who has to choose; make the choice that you can live with! |
